Course Description:

"Good Guidance" at Rhame Elementary

The goal of H.B. Rhame guidance is to help each child maximize his or her potential, both academically and socially. The guidance curriculum offers student the necessary skills to embrace the challenges and changes in a multi-faceted world. I believe that by working as a team with parents, teachers, and students, she can best meet the many and varied needs of all students ensuring to "Leave No Child Behind" at H.B. Rhame Elementary.

The H.B. Rhame Elementary guidance program teaches three main components of the South Carolina Comprehensive Guidance Program that incorporates: Learning to Live, Learning to Work and Learning to Learn. "Good Guidance" at H.B. Rhame also teaches students to develop positive character traits. Character Education among youth is vital in today's society. Character Education is infused into the school climate and daily routine of the school.

H.B. Rhame Elementary's guidance program also assist students both academically and socially. The guidance program strives to help each student be the best that they can be, so that "No Child Is Left Behind."

Teacher Professional Biography:

Mrs. Brailsford has been a guidance counselor in Richland One for eight years. She was a classroom teacher for three years in kindergarten and first grade. She earned a BS in Elementary Education,and has a M.Ed. in School Guidance and Counseling. She furthered her studies and earned an Ed.S. in Elementary Administration and Supervision. Mrs. Brailsford is married, and is the mother of one. She enjoys spending time with her family, meeting new people, traveling, and reading.
